The Metal Pengos
Jan, Rufus and I celebrated the new year thrice - and each time we created something special. In 1992 we did an audio book and in 1994 - a music group. The Metal Pengos was the name of a group that solely existed for this one day, mainly because it was already so loud ouside that no one could complain about the loud music.
The album is called Schweinepest (pig desease) and was recorded on this one day. I still had my Yamaha CX-5M with a music keyboard in my room and Jan and Rufus brought drums and a guitar. We used almost everything within reach - resulting in some strange sounds. Two of the more bizarre instruments were a snack box and a real cheap turntable.
All songs except Hangin' Tough (cover version) and Nachbarn were created while playing. While Rufus played an instrument that he was more than capable playing (piano), Jan and I had to play instruments that we were not familiar. Jan usually plays trumpet. On the other hand, I had never touched a guitar before.
